How to use this site

Thanks for visiting Know Your Candidates - a non partisan website designed to help you get to know the candidates standing for election in your area. We ask candidates to share their official promotional material, but also to answer questions that you, the voters, have asked during a pre poll of your electoral area, as well as general questions such as:

• What is their experience: life experience and professional experience?

• What qualifies them to be the best person to represent me?

• What is their vision for my council area/ state/ the country?

• What are they hoping to achieve if they get elected?  

• What is their position on the issues I am most interested in?

• If I vote for them, how well will they represent me? 

The candidate pages are updated during the course of the pre election period as the information is made available.

This website also has some information about the different responsibilities of the Federal, State and Local governments, as well as the different responsibilities of Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Council.  We've provided this information to help clarify what issues are relevant for the different levels of government and what roles the various members of parliament play.  For this information start here.​​​​
